Compliance & IFUs
10 questions
No. All SPD Brushes products are sold as non-sterile unless explicitly labeled otherwise. They are intended for pre-cleaning, instrument storage, or protection use and must be processed by your facility per applicable IFUs and standards before use.
Yes. Every SPD Brushes product family has a downloadable IFU on our Resources page. IFUs are also linked directly from each product detail page and embedded in all quote PDFs for audit-ready documentation.
Yes. Our channel brush guidance aligns with AAMI ST79 recommendations for manual cleaning and lumen brushing. Endoscope brush use aligns with AAMI ST91 for flexible endoscope reprocessing. Product-specific compliance details are in each IFU.
Depends on the product. Each IFU and product page specifies whether the item is single-use or validated for reuse — and if reusable, includes cleaning and inspection criteria. When in doubt, check the IFU before proceeding.
Some do. Tags, certain protectors, and single-use brushes will include shelf-life information on the label and in the IFU. If no expiration is indicated, the product is not shelf-life limited under normal storage conditions.
Yes. SDS documents are available for applicable items. Email support@spdbrushes.com with the SKU and we'll send the PDF within one business day.
We provide IFUs, W9, SDS (where applicable), and order traceability documentation to meet surveyor requirements. If you have a specific documentation checklist from TJC, DNV, or AAAHC, email it to us and we'll confirm what we can supply.
Some are sterilization-compatible and some are not. Vented instrument guards are designed to allow steam penetration; many tags are workflow labels and may not be validated for every sterilization modality. Always check the specific IFU — it will state which sterilization methods and cycles are validated.
Check the brush IFU. It will state whether the brush can be steam sterilized, which pre-vacuum or gravity cycles are validated, and how many reuse cycles are allowed. Most of our reusable channel brushes specify maximum cycle counts.
Yes. Every IFU is publicly accessible on our Resources page — no login required. Share the URL, download the PDF, print for the SPD wall, or link from your facility's internal documentation system.
